In the journey of pet loss, seeking and accepting support can really sometimes be challenging. You know, others may not fully understand the depth of your grief, they just may not get it. Some people maybe have never owned pets and they don't know the love and the bond between the pet owner and the pet and how strong that is.

Now, we know each person's path through loss is unique and it's important to honor your own needs and feelings, but today we're going to embark on a meditation to gently guide you in asking for and accepting support. Just recognizing that it's okay to seek help and to surround yourself with those who offer compassion and understanding.

So, begin by finding a comfortable position. allowing your body to relax and your mind to soften. You can close your eyes gently and take a few deep breaths, inhaling peace and exhaling tension. And just let your body go and get completely relaxed.

And as you settle into this moment, bring to mind the feelings of grief and loss that have been weighing on your heart.

Acknowledge these emotions with kindness and compassion. Understanding that it's natural to feel a range of emotions during this time. You may be feeling anger, frustration, sadness, guilt. Whatever emotions are arising, they're completely normal. And you're valid for having these emotions.

Now I want you to imagine a warm, gentle light surrounding you.

Let that light represent love and support.

This light represents the compassion and understanding that you deserve, even if it's hard to find in those around you.

And as you breathe in this light, feel it filling your heart with warmth and comfort. Allow yourself to feel held and supported by these loving energy.

Go ahead and reflect on the people in your life who might offer support, even if they don't fully understand your grief. See if you can just picture their faces or feel their presence, and know that it's okay to reach out to them. To share your feelings and to ask for the support you need.

And if there are friends or family members who have dismissed your grief, which does happen, just imagine surrounding yourself with a shield of compassion and understanding. We can't blame them. They might just not understand.

But this shield of compassion and understanding, let it protect your heart, allowing you to seek support without feeling judged or misunderstood.

I want you to consider the possibility of joining a support group or community where people understand the depth of pet loss.

If you can, visualize yourself connecting with others who share similar experiences, offering mutual support and understanding.

Now bring to mind the idea of asking for help.

This may feel difficult or uncomfortable. Acknowledge any fears or hesitations you have about reaching out. Just know it's okay to feel this way. And understand that asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Take a deep breath and silently repeat the following affirmations. I deserve support and compassion as I navigate my grief.

It's okay to ask for help and to lean on others for support.

I am not alone in my grief. There are people who understand and care.

I release any shame or guilt about seeking support, knowing it's a healthy step towards healing.

I open my heart to receive the love and support that I need.

Imagine yourself reaching out, whether it's maybe through a phone call, maybe sending a message, or even just joining a support group.

Whatever way you choose to reach out, just visualize the warmth and understanding you receive in return. Feeling your heart just lighten with each supportive connection.

As we approach the end of this meditation, take a moment to express gratitude for the support that is available to you. Whether it comes from friends, family, or even a community of understanding individuals.

Let's go ahead and take a final deep breath together. Inhaling peace through your nose,

and exhaling any remaining tension through your mouth.

Just know that you are worthy of support and compassion as you continue to navigate your journey of grief.

When you're ready, you can gently open your eyes and return to the present moment, carrying with you a sense of connection and the courage to seek the support that you need. Thank you so much for meditating with me.
